PROFESSIONALISM CONCLAVE -- Leveraging Diversity Through Inclusion: Insights for Action

Join the LSBA, the Louisiana Supreme Court, and a host of local and specialty bar associations across the state for a full day of workshops and discussions to fulfill your professionalism requirement for the year. This year’s Sixth Annual Conclave on Diversity in the Legal Profession is scheduled for March 8, 2013, from 7:45 a.m. to 5:45 p.m., at the Renaissance Hotel in Baton Rouge (7000 Bluebonnet Boulevard, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70810). This year's theme is "Leveraging Diversity Through Inclusion: Insights for Action."

The luncheon keynote speaker will be Morris Dees, who is the founder and chief trial attorney of the Southern Poverty Law Center.

During the conclave, highly credentialed speakers will provoke discussions regarding the scope and meaning of inclusion, the professional and financial importance of a diverse and inclusive legal profession for practitioners, judges, and the administration of justice, and practical tips to create a more inclusive legal profession. The program will include a two-hour interactive workshop facilitated by nationally recognized expert on diversity Vernâ Myers. The program also will include panel discussions and a few specialized breakout sessions.

Hotel Accommodations:
Room rates at the Renaissance Hotel (7000 Bluebonnet Boulevard, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70810) are $129.00 per night (excluding taxes and fees) for March 7-9. Members are urged to register early, as there are only a limited number of rooms available at the discounted rates listed above. The LSBA room block is reserved for seminar attendees only. In order to reserve a hotel room, you must be registered for the seminar. To register, please call 866-469-5448 and ask for the “LSBA Diversity Conclave” group block rate. All reservations must be guaranteed with a major credit card and must be made no later than 02/14/2013, at 11:59 p.m. Any requests received after 02/14/2013 will be handled on a space and rate availability basis only.

A link to the seminar materials will be emailed to you prior to the program. Should you decide to print the materials in advance and bring them with you, the link will be sent to the email address of record you provided to the LSBA. If you choose to save and review the materials from your laptop during the program, we strongly suggest you charge your laptop battery, as electrical outlets may be limited. Internet access will not be available in the meeting room. You are free to purchase a hard copy or flash drive containing the materials. A printed manual can be purchased for an additional $40. Be sure to make your selection by checking the appropriate box on the Registration Form. You cannot change your selection on-site. SEMINAR MANUAL WILL NOT BE PROVIDED UNLESS PURCHASED IN ADVANCE.

THIS PROGRAM SHOULD BE APPROVED BY MCLE FOR 6.00 CLE HOURS, INCLUDING ETHICS AND PROFESSIONALISM.

CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY. Cancellation of registration must be received in writing by the LSBA no later than March 1. Cancellations will receive a full refund, less a $30 administrative charge. Absolutely no refunds will be made after March 1.
