TECH TUESDAY - Big Firm Tech, Small Firm Budget

This seminar is FULL! However, join us for next month's TECH TUESDAY to be held April 30!!

Solo practitioners and small firms can now conduct a sophisticated practice without the space and support staff that would have been needed a few years ago, due to the dramatic changes in information and communication technology available today. Technology has made it possible for attorneys to meet client expectations making it less important to have an expensively decorated office in a high rent district. It is now possible for a small law firm, on a relatively low budget, to perform the kind of legal work that in earlier years could only have been done by larger firms at their customarily higher fees.

Small firms need to be well-organized, maintain effective systems and good practices in order to deliver big firm results. Now more than ever, small shops need to make sure that when they take on more complex and sophisticated cases, they are able to provide the level of competence, diligence, and professionalism that are required.

ABID HUSSAIN is a solo practitioner in New Orleans and a recent transplant from Dallas, where he practiced corporate law for six years. A presenter at the LSBA’s recent 6th Annual Solo & Small Firm Conference, he provides practical legal and corporate counsel, including intellectual property and asset protection, to entrepreneurs, small business owners, real estate investors, and musicians. After receiving his law degree from the University of Oregon, he worked with technology and software companies, including start-ups as well as giants such as Texas Instruments and Microsoft, in a variety of marketing and management positions for 8 years before practicing as an attorney. He is also a proud graduate of the Bronx High School of Science, and the University of California at Berkeley.
